Zappy Eventz

Online booking platform for birthday parties and events

I built the online booking platform for Zappy, an event planning company. Parents can choose a party theme, customise it and book the whole celebration online, while vendors and partners can join the platform on their own. It is live in 4 cities.

01Overview

The story

Zappy is an event planning company that organises birthday parties and experiential events for families. Their goal was simple: let a parent go from 'I need a party' to a confirmed booking without phone calls and back-and-forth messages, and give vendors an easy way to join the platform. I built the full web platform around that goal. Parents choose their city, browse themed party packages filtered by age group and date, customise the event with decor and add-ons, and book several services together in one cart. Vendors and referral partners have their own sign-up, so Zappy can grow its network without extra manual work. The platform is live in 4 cities and is set up to add Corporate Events and DIY Decor Kits next.

03Challenges

Problems I solved

The tricky parts of this project, and how I got past them.

  1. Challenge 011

    One party, many services

    The problem

A birthday needs decor, entertainment and sometimes a venue. If parents have to book each one separately, many of them give up halfway.

    How I solved it

I built a single cart where parents can add any mix of packages and services and pay once, so the whole party is booked in one go.

  2. Challenge 021

Only show what can be booked

    The problem

Each city has different vendors and themes. Showing something that isn't available leads to cancelled orders and unhappy customers.

    How I solved it

Parents pick their city first, and every theme and service is filtered to that city, so they only see what Zappy can actually deliver.

  3. Challenge 031

    Growing the vendor network

    The problem

To expand to more cities, Zappy needs new decorators, entertainers and venues to join without the team onboarding each one by hand.

    How I solved it

I added dedicated sign-up flows for vendors and referral partners, so new partners can join the platform directly.

  4. Challenge 041

    Getting found by parents

    The problem

Parents usually start by searching Google for party planners in their city.

    How I solved it

Each page has its own search-friendly title and description built around city and party keywords, like birthday party planners in Chennai, Bengaluru and Delhi.
